NBD - 1976 Gibson G-3
Picked this up this afternoon from Jack's Instrument Services in Manchester. Bought it back in February this year, but needed a few bits and pieces for it and finally got my hands on it now! Sounds incredible, really nice driving tone that's even all across the fretboard. Neck is really comfortable and action is low so it's a breeze to play. I bought it in a sorry state, but pleased to have it brought back from the dead. I kind of did a restoration thread here, if anyone is interested. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/res...slowly-966710/

That turned out great! A G-3 was my first good bass back in 1977.

I always liked this model more than the Grabber or the Ripper. ( maybe it was the names.,lol)
Big fan of the Bill Lawrence pickups, too.

That's a twin to my G-3, currently getting some stage time in a retro prog thing I am doing.

I just bought a 75 G-3 off of another TBer. Looking forward to getting it. I had the one with the sliding pickup back in the mid 70's when I was first starting.
