Beautiful fingerboard regardless of the type of wood, but it does look like rosewood

Yep, rosewood. The ebony ones we sold all had very very tight grain.

+1. Looks brand new. Very nice looking G&L. An L2K is first on my GAS list.

Yeah! It's so weird compared to the rest of the bass. I guess the thick layer of gunk protected it...

Is there a finish on the fretboard? Im guessing there isnt. Looks like on the body and back of the neck that the clear just oxidized over time.

Nitro shrinks and cracks like that over time, especially when exposed to temp changes.

Thats what I thought. The fretboard wouldnt have a finish to deteriorate. But the body would. But still, the frets look unchewed and the board overall is super clean. Amazing.

I just wanted to bump this and ask a question:

What would this instrument in its current state (with OHSC) be worth?

It obviously is not mint or anywhere near, and I know G&L never really took off in terms of resale, so your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

If I had to guess I'd say $700-800. If it was a year or two older, more.

Still, ebay is fickle. You might do much better. I just watched a nice '81-ish ash/ebony/slots 2K fetch $760 + shipping.
