Man that's beautiful, I really dig the Les Paul body shape. I've never played one of the basses though, how do you like it?

Plays great...I usually put flats on my Basses, but to change things up I might actually keep the rounds on this one.

As usual the pickups are "hotter" than most active basses, which I like. And this is a passive bass.

Overall, fit and finish is top notch as is playability.

Good Job, Gibson

Love it!
I guess the headstock is a slightly different shape, I really want one of those bad!
Is it the oversize body?

It's passive, but a couple of Gibson's recent basses have had very hot pickups, I have the G-3 re issue, it smokes, great tone!

Great lookin' bass, man! I've been wanting a black Gibson LP bass for such a long time. These are just too cool.

I owned one of these last year. Very nice. Kinda big and heavy, but the tone was monstrous. They are passive, but mine was louder than my Modulus with a 18v pre.

Enjoy!

Man that thing is HOT!

I've wanted one for a while, but the two that I've managed to play were both used, and HEAVY as He**. (seems to matter more as I've aged )

How heavy is yours?

Congrats and have fun with it! I jumped when they were first reissued and picked up a gold top a little over a year ago. They made some changes that now have me thinking about trading to the most current version. They changed the headstock to a true LP shape giving it more mass, changed the neck profile, moved away from the baked maple fretboard but most importantly (to me) they bound the neck. I'm envious...... The only thing I'll have to do is play one to see what's up with the neck profile. What I can't figure out is how it changed. They changed the description but I'm not sure if that was just a description change to better identify what it has. Anyway, play it with passion and have fun.

Yes, and the neck has "binding" too.
