Hey all:

Just picked up this 2012 MIA Jazz, Charcoal Frost, and made a couple of aesthetic Mods:

Pearl Guard vs. Std white
chrome knobs vs Black
And my "signature" Chrome thumbrest

What do you think???

The pg design compliments the chilly charcoal nicely. The fretboard grain is sweet. How is the weight?

Normally, I'm not a fan of the black pearl guards. But if ever there was a color that it looks like it was made for, it's that Charcoal Frost! Looks great!

I couldn't agree more. I've been coming back to this thread all day just to look at it again!! I guess I know what color combo to go with next time.

Thanks....

I was pleased that the gray is a great match to the body.

It beats the look of the Plain White Std. rest. And it is genuine Fender part so the fit was perfect.

Same here on the black pearl, and even one step farther, I generally don't like chrome knobs on a Jazz. But your bass pulls both these off very well. Nice looking Bass!!!

Congrats! I just got a 2012 American Std P with a maple board and mine does not have a figure like yours does... sweet bonus!

Play her well!

Charcoal Frost metallic is one of my favorite finishes, because it almost-not quite, but kinda-sorta takes on a purplish hue (to my eyes) in contrast to the maple fretboard. I love the black pearloid PG and nearly-camouflaged thumbrest.
