NBD: Brand New 2011 Fender "antigua wht" P Bass

Hey all:

I just put together my new brand new 2011 "antigua wht" MIA P Bass.

I was able to get an almost impossible to find Brand New Antigua Pickguard.

What do you all think? Again it is a new MIA 2011 P.

Thanks,

The pickguard looks GREAT, but it hurts me that you installed that thumbrest

This is going to sound weird, but I'm going to say it anyway:

The Antigua PG almost has the identical aesthetic effect as does the body itself finished in Antigua. It's like a bizarre optical illusion.

Anyway, because I'm a fan of the finish, I like it.

Why is this PG so hard to find, and where'd you find yours? Is it only offered on Antigua basses from the factory?

I install a thumbrest on all my P basses and the Antigua guard has two pre drilled holes in it.

The MIM Antigua was like the old '80s piece with the Fender thumbrest from the factory.

Yes, do tell! I'm suddenly inspired to replace the cracked black guard on my yellowed white P with a snotburst. Seriously.

That is cool as can be. The PG really complements the white body. Nice work!

That really looks great! After looking at the picture for a bit, it almost looks like a clear guard that fades to a smoked tint on the edges.

I love my MIM Antigua P with Fralins. Still gets played weekly at rehearsal and I have a few tone monsters in the stable.

I love the look of it. Congrats on thinking outside of the box and creating a visually unique instrument.

Excellent foresight on your part to think of that combination. I'd have never thought of it, but it looks great! Way to go...

This would be easy enough to do to an existing pickguard with a can of spray paint. Looks great, btw. I'm not a fan of antiqua but I do like this.
