NBD: Charvel 3B
Traded a bass for this last night. It has the heaviest sound I've ever heard from a bass - the perfect lows. Not sure if its from the flats (first bass with them!), or the neck-thru (another first). Or maybe it's because of the strap? Playing with flats is definitely a new experience. Anyone know what color it is? Looks kinda rusty/red/bronze. I tried to capture it with my phone. :p The guy I traded with said it was an 86'!
you are right, yer phone sucks :hiding:
but ya thats a pretty heavily modded 86 in black cherry..
I can only imagine what that guy was thinking adding the fretboard extension, whatever that front jack does and that *** Washburn branded bridge.:ninja:
in the bright light it probably looks like this one? If it does, it is black cherry.
Yeah! So I guess it's black cherry. What, fretboard extensions aren't common?! :p He said he was originally planning for a killswitch, and told me it's in my hands now if I want to do it.
I saw that thing for sale a long time ago. I guess he got tired of it.lolol
But ya I have had many 3b's and not a dud in the bunch. ( or any of the other late 80s early 90s models from Japan I still own )
Best pick style hard rock/metal bass ever...period, bar none, end of story. It may be a one trick pony, but it does that one trick better than anyone else. These things are made to do battle with a Les Paul and a Marshall stack..... and win
and a sidenote, that purple 3b of mine in the picture a couple posts back ended up at northwest guitars. The seller is asking WAY too much for it, but ya my bass made it once again to ebay...lol
