NBD Fender American Special p-bass

I decided to get the american special Precision bass while it was on sale at GC. Seems like a great deal for this bass, leaps above performance from the mim stuff, not leaps above in price. Really digging this thing so far.

Should fill a niche i dont have with my other basses, and it looks good sitting next to them

I had all I could do to not buy one of these on sale a couple months ago. I don't need one, but they're definitely nice basses. Congrats!

I saw one for $699 a while back and it was hard to pass it up. The look, sound and feel is a killer combo on these.

Do like the price, kind of having a hard time falling in love with that finish.

The first scratch/dent is always tough, but every one after that is added mojo.

These things are really light. You are correct. This is the lightest bass i have, its definitely different.

Very light. Play awsome! At least the one I messed around with at GC in Syracuse NY. Trying to pry it from one of the associates paws was not an easy task. He kept telling me that if it was still there in a few days, he was buying it.

I wonder if they will be available until the end of Jan. at this price? I may have to get myself a birthday present......

I played one, and will again this weekend if GC doesn't sell it, but how durable does the finish seem? It reminds me of my first bass (stripped basswood body), so I'm squeamish about the soft feeling finish. Does it feel as if it'd ding easily? or is it fairly scratch resistant?

Beautiful bass. Not a big fan of sunburst finishes but I am really liking that one. Its subtle and classy. Great score!
