Talking NBD!!! (Fender Content)

Well, I was goofing around in one of my local music stores (name withheld to protect the innocent)...When what did my eyes behold?? A beautiful MIA Standard Precision.

It was just hanging there in all of it's Burst/Tort & Maple beauty.

They had it hanging amongst the MIM models, and had I not been looking in that area, I may have missed it.

I have been after a MIA Precision for many, MANY years, but the finances just never allowed for it...Now, as I've aged, I find the finances a bit more forgiving of my "addiction"...Plus they tossed me a price I simply couldn't say no to.

This bass was singing to me long before I even touched it, it sounds and plays better than I could have hoped for.

Here she is! (Sorry for crappy phone pics...I was way too excited to find the real camera).

I've finally mastered the bass, does anyone know what those other 3 strings are for?

Great choice...I love all my Fenders.

All you need now is a set of flat wounds to make it "sing Old School".

Classic. Beautiful bass and a lifetime purchase.

Maybe it's the photo, but the stings under the string tree look like they are unraveling or something.

Actually that's the cloth wrap, it's a very light blue, almost matches the strings, but looking at the pic, I can totally see what your saying.

Nope, I was goofing around in Milwaukee. (I live half way between Madison & Milwaukee, so both are kinda "local" for me).

Madison's music stores leave much to be desired these days...

I see by your 3rd picture that MIA was really important to you?
