Ha! Exact opposite of mine! I think both options would find buyers.

Very nice.
Years ago I had a 1971-P-Body, with a 1966-Rosewood Jazz neck. Jazz pickup in bridge, and a Badass bridge.
It was stolen in Fla. after a gig.
You got a nice one there.

Oh man. That is utterly devastating and heartbreaking. Stealing a mans 1 of a kind instrument is among the lowest things a thief can do to another person. It just makes me mad when I hear stories like this.

That is a really sweet bass. sounds like you two are already getting very well acquainted.

That is truly bogus, mojo. I would be heartbroken if I ever lost my version of your bass -

1966 Jazz neck on a 1970 P body, with old dimarzios and plenty of pickguard screws.

Very cool! The reason I asked was because I own the same version from 2011! The '12 model is Oly White, so it threw me. I see what you did now! I absolutely love mine. It's my main player. Congrats!!

No, it has a Vintage Jazz Bass® Single-Coil Bridge Pickup. I hear very little buzz and I haven't had it shielded. I probably will probably shield at some point, but it hasn't been a bother yet. I have not used it in the studio yet. That may be a reason to shield. No problems so far though. Love it.

It's a 2001 mia deluxe p bass. One of the ones with the jazz humbucker in the bridge position. It is an awesome sounding bass. I have a couple of nice pics of it I will post when I get home. I also just picked up a new mia deluxe jazz V that is killing. Other than needing to be shielded out of the box!

Please do post pics! I had a 2010 MIA Jazz Deluxe and that bass was incredible! The build quality, the tone, the finish on the back of the neck...I loved that bass. The neck profile on the 5'ers is awesome. I had mine sheilded and it really did the trick. I actually loved the N3 Pickups. Congrats!!!

Looks like a killer P/J. I like the J pup in a P/J configuration to be in the 70's position, too ... more snap and less phase concellation. I have one P/J with a single coil J and one with a split coil J. I like the tone of the single coil combination better, but like the silence of the split coil. With any luck, a really well executed shielding job will give you the best of both worlds (which I'm really surprised wasn't done already by the Fender Custom Shop given the coin involved in acquiring one of those bad boys. On a related note ... do you have to pay extra to get knobs included on Fender CS basses these days? All you need is the tugbar (A.K.A. thumb rest) to complete an already handsome package.
