TalkBass Forums - NBD (Fender Fretless P)

So, I work on the computer all day and have a bit of an obsession with deal hunting. I checked CL yesterday morning and saw a crappy stock picture on an add for a lined fretless P-bass with a good price. I assume it's either a squire or complete beat up with a broken truss rod.

I email the seller and confirm it is not a squire. I figure why not go take a look.

I am now the new owner of a '97 (according to serial number) or 98 (according to qc tag on neck) MIA P-bass for stupid little cash. This was the sort of deal that you hear about and wonder "why doesn't that ever happen to me?" It has seen better days cosmetically with some finish issues and a few gouges. The finish on the back of the neck is cracked, so I need to smooth it. The truss rod is maxed out, but seems to work, so nothing I can't fix with a washer or two.

My real issue is that I really don't need another fretless P style bass :cool: So, I will probably be upgrading my account and looking to trade this sometime soon :D
