NBD Fender Jazz BAss 1966 Dakota Red 1 Attachment(s) Hi, I bought this beauty November 2012. As far as I can tell it is very close to, if not all original. Who cares....it's a great bass! I made a little 45 seconds video with pictures of the bass. The soundtrack includes the Jazz too. Hope you like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_KI_HyvoNg Attachment 310911 Have a nice day, Mich |
Great looking bass. Fender did bindings and blocks in '66? |

I had to watch the vid a couple of times. That neck looks incredible. |
Love it! |
wow!!! excellent shape for being 46+ years old! love the color and the neck... congrats! |
Nice. Really nice. I definitely like Dakota Red, as opposed to Candy Red. Love that primer peepin' thru the finish. What kinda shape is the back of the body in? |
Beautiful. Absolutely. Thats one of the best Fender colors IMO. Looks great with the ashtrays and b&b. Not much more can be done. Very classy. |
That is a killer bass. |
2 Attachment(s) Attachment 310946Attachment 310947 I got to play this in Vermont last year...I think it was a 66'. Best Jazz I ever played. I congratulate you on yours! I love the Blocks and Binding!!! |

There is quite some fretbuzz too from the 15th fret and up and the neckpocket is not a perfect fit. The body is very lightweight, causing some neckdive. The pots are cracking a bit. So, the bass has been used is showing it's age and is far from a perfect built. However...the sound and playabilty (usually I don't get anywhere near the 15th fret) are fantastic! And for others maybe not a big deal, but I just love to own a piece of history. |
