so tempting...

The bass looks great and by the sound of it, most people are happy with it.

Does anyone know how much it weights?

Thanks!

Nice. I had no idea Fender made these. The block inlays and maple board have me sold.

Anyway, congrats and enjoy that bass.

Well, it's basically a very nice version of the Deluxe P Bass Special, and they typically weigh between 8.5-9.5lbs...

Congrats to those of you who've bought these - they look really nice!!!

Totally. In-Store exclusives. Can't get them online but call your local GC (or any GC for that matter) and they can send one right to you! Mine has a small blemish on the paint (factory fault) and came with a 60th anniversary neck plate - totally a keeper!

So far, they've had 2-3 batches. Not sure how many more batches will come, from what I'm told by GC execs and sales people, these are selling VERY well since they are still kind of scarce. I've only seen 2 returned so far (must not be active fans), but other than that, get them while you can! Or you can wait a year or two down the road for someone's tastes to change and nab one on TB for probably half the cost.

I tried one at GC about a year ago and fell in love with it. Went back to the store the next day to buy it and someone else beat me to it. Haven't seen another one since. Since they are a GC exclusive I looked on their website new and used but didn't find any so I assumed they were discontinued. Great to know I can still get this thru in store sales order, wasn't aware that was an option.

I damn near bought one of these yesterday at GC, luckily it was out of my price range so I came to my senses and bought what I went in for. I spotted it from across the room, really striking.

Not a big active fan, but that bass is just beautiful.

I agree. I picked one up about a month ago and I really like mine. I was a little hesitant at first because it is a MIM bass...but the fit and finish is terrific.

What sold me was the neck. I love thinner necks and the black blocks give it a cool vintage vibe....although I will admit I had the back of the neck de-glossed professionally. I'm not a big fan of glossy necks.

Of course it didn't hurt that I was able to use a 13% coupon when I bought it.
