NBD: Flea market find
Found this yesterday on a flea market in the lovely city of Ghent
A P-bass made by 'Dylon presented by B.C.G.' (I think it is some sort of Japanese copy from the late '80ies, early '90ies).
Action was set way to high, causing to bow the neck a little; lowered the action, neck seems to be straight(er) again.
Saddle of the E-string is busted (could only lower one half of the sadle, can't get an allen wrench in in the second half because it the thingy were you put in your wrench is worn)
Knobs are missing
Volume is stuck at maximum (I can't possibly turn it, even tried with a pair of plyers), tone control is fine (no scratches).
Machine head 2 out of 4 are fine, Machine head for Dstring is nearly impossible to turn (some 4WD oil could probably fix that), machine head for E-string is a bit loose.
Strings have some life.
Plugged it in yesterday, and it still plays fine: nice ballsy and punchy P-bass sound with a nice neck.
Best of all; I only paid 15 € (about 20 $) for the bass.
It will receive a lot of LTC, and then I will rock the hell out of it.
Crap, I was there too yesterday, what a bargain to miss! Congrats man :)
sweet score. For that price you can't go wrong no matter what
