NBD: Ibanez SR500 Sunburst

I got this used from GC. I was really looking for a used SR750 but was not able to find one. I saw this and it was love at first sight. I had never seen a sunburst Ibanez before. For a used bass it was in perfect condition. I didn't know how old the strings were so I decided to put some fresh D'addario round wounds on it and it plays and sounds great. Hope to keep this for many years to come. Thanks for looking. Note: I think it's actually a brownburst and not a sunburst.

Congrats - that is really gorgeous! I've had my eye on a 5-string version of this myself. Hopefully I will have one in the near future. The burst is really beautiful on your particular instrument too. Enjoy!

Oh man, the set up is perfect. I thought for sure I'd have to adjust the neck or strings but it was already set up just how I like it.

And it's a 500 series so it has Bartolini pickups, yes? Must be pretty amazing. Great find.

The Bartolinis are one of the reasons I got it. And yes, it is a great bass. Thanks for your comments.

Nice!

I considered the plain brown version. loved the neck but didnt like the active p/u's and 3 of the ones I saw, the body scratched real easy to the point that the color came right off the body.

good luck with yours

Yea, I do believe the older models had a problem with the finish coming off real easy. I haven't heard it happening with the newer models.

That's because it's a GC exclusive. Congratz, you've got an awesome bass

It must be because it's not shown on Ibanez's website. Thanks for your comments.

I like it. Ibanez is making some great looking and great playing basses.

Thanks. I love it. If you can find one, I highly recommend it.
