NBD for me! The most beautiful EBMM I've ever seen. Sterling 5 HH PDN !!

Wow, its perfect in every way & pictures are totally not even close to how good it really looks in person. The Sterling HH is the best bass I've owned & I've been through a ton! Its the best for me because its the most diverse tonally that can be change very quickly using just the 3 band EQ & the pickup switch. I love my Bongo but its harder to dial in exactly what I want nearly as quickly as with this Sterling HH. The trick is the Series wiring for aggression, single coils but parallel center position for very warm tones. I've tried a ton of boutique stuff & while they are awesome & may even sound better than the Sterling in some instances, they are not as diverse tonally with such ease to change up the tone for my cover band needs.

Sterling HH = VERY underrated basses around here IMO.

Agreed, Its got its own spin on the P tone, Kinda does a Jazz thing, and its very own MM sound. Plus they're just freakin sexy. And the build quality is top notch. IMO you cant get a much better working instrument, only Fancier woods and inlay work.

Fortunately they didn't blame the look with gold parts.

2 Questions:
1. is the bridge PU in the "sweet spot" as on Stingrays?
2. is the neck PU in the way if you slap?
(I always wonder when it comes to double humbucker basses...)

1. Damn right & its EVERYTHING I wanted it to be in that spot
2. Hell yes it is. Ed Friedland can still slap these really well but your average Joe like me... this aint a go to slapper bass

Amp'd: I really liked the Reflex & it was more tones than this BUT I can access these & control them MUCH easier & MUCH quicker. If you were a set it & forget it guy... the Reflex has the most tones available so you wouldn't go wanting

This is by far the best bass I've ever played man, I just can't believe it right now, its literally the perfect bass, insane. The tone is so sweet. Just a bit more in the low end vs my normal Sterling HH rosewood but VERY close. The upper end is definitely a bit more sweeter with a tad less sparkle, not as harsh. If I roll up the bridge pickup & treble I can still get that Sterling aggression that cuts through the mix & sounds great... think Jets Are You Going to Be My Girl & Skynards Gimmie 3 Steps. Middle pickup & I have pure reggae warmth especially cutting the mids & boosting lows a bit... think Black Keys Lonely Boy all bass.

Keeper for life no doubt, never had a bass hit me this hard so fast.

it is quite sweet. and it has stainless frets. lucky you, the sterling 5 HH is the best bass musicman makes today. I still regret selling mine.
