Cool NBD (new to me anyway): Music Man Stingray 4

Picked up a used 2008 Stingray 4 today in like-new condition. Vintage sunburst over a 1-piece swamp ash body and a rosewood fret board. Sounds amazing (no surprise) and plays wonderfully!

Here's a pic:

I've played with the idea of buying a Stingray many times over the past 18 years but never acted on it until today. I'm pretty jazzed!

Very nice. A classic colour. I love MusicMans, always top notch quality across the board.

I have had an SR4 with the same colour combo since new, a 2001. I thought it had a one piece body for the longest time, then one day I realised it is a three piece body, they just do an increadible good job matching the pieces of wood.

Classic. Congrats.

I lie that burst better on a SR than a Fender!

I was never a big fan of the fender 3 color burst but I did like the early 2 color burst. The Music Man 3 color vintage burst has always appealed to me (my favorite Stingray finish - nice that I should find one in near new condition for a great price).

I took this bass to an audition this evening and played it for several hours - what a fantastic instrument! Seemingly effortless to play and sounded great for a broad selection of music. Color me happy!

The audition was fun but not what I'm looking for. Worth the time regardless.
