Isn't that the worst? I always have new basses shipped to my job cuz they usually have to be signed for. More than once I've just gone home minutes after the bass arrived.

Oh lordy, that's beautiful. That color reminds me of the wonderful orange color that Gretsch uses, too.

Thanks. Well you know how I feel about the g5123b. This was an alternative acquired in a trade.

I've been tempted many times by the (never sold) Tobacco Burst Dub King hanging on the wall at True Tone in Santa Monica. Haven't given in yet.

The neck is very nice however more square than what I'm used to. Reminds me of a Les Paul neck. Short scale & lightweight. I'll get acclimated to it I'm sure. Stoked.

Wow,that a beaut, congrats! It seems like there is a lot of open real estate behind the bridge. Hollow body and set neck, love to hear this one with some good flats on....

It's like a P pickup in the front & a beast humbucker in the back. LIke a mullet. The short scale was odd at first--I was overstepping postiions, especially near 12th<, but I'll adjust.
Everyone's right; it's fun to play, & light enough, & guitar-sized. So far, I like 32" scale best (Gretsch) & 35" (Ibanez) least, but whatever. As a matter of jumping in without hands-on research etc I'm pleased & without regret. I'm digging what Reverend is doing with their other models too.

Mine has hofner flats on it what I was told. The bass is smaller so it's not too much land back there. Like a telecaster I suppose.

Update -- I can get close to a Precision using the neck pickup (it is similar to a P pickup). The bridge pup by itself is a mean animal with sharp teeth. Right hand playing next to the bridge causes the entire guitar to respond; it turns into a nasally geddy lee. If I don't roll off the tone the bridge pup alone hurts my ears. Setting both pups on (fader in neutral position) and the tone rolled back 50% seems like the sweet spot. I would prefer if the knobs had numbers or a clearer jndication of what level, & a 3-way telecaster switch would've been cool, & less tedious than a pan knob.
The short scale is not conducive to slapping and the sustain is short on the E. it might be due to the flatwounds. Overall a very sensitive responsive instrument, excellent build quality, great pickups--you'd swear they are active. It sounds better at reasonable volumes but can handle mind-numbing loud. Feedback on the semi hollow body occurs if you're too close facing the speakers, naturally.
Not heavy--jammed with friends for about 2-1/2 hours it didn't get burdensome.
Now to practice
