Just received this "killer" blue sparkle 2012 Steve Harris P Bass with a chrome pickguard, very cool. Although it looks black the pickguard, in person, is chrome. And if you like the color like I did on the web it really is EVEN COOLER IN PERSON.
Very old school with thick neck and thick, Flat rotosound strings.
I of course added my usual thumbrest.
Although as costly as an MIA, this made in Japan is Great Quality. The only issue I have is, that at this price a hardshell case should be standard not the "gig bag" it comes with.
What do you all think of her?

I thought you would get a nice blue hardshell case standard with it.

It made me fall in love w/ the P-bass (I had shunned them for around 20-25 years since I started playing).
I sold the SH and went out and bought a real '76 P-bass and it just happened to have an old, period correct mighty mite polished steel pick guard and the seymore duncan Qp's. I added a bad ass II and it quickly became and still remains my go-to.

I had a chance to play it and between the Seymour Duncan P/U's and the 110 flatwound E, it definitely has a different tone than my other P's.
The strings and the thick neck will be something to get used to.

P basses are my favorite and I've owned a bunch... Still GAS'n for for a Steve Harris Sig P

The charcoal frost is a great color. I thought the hoppus is a jazz with P pickups?
Good luck with your new P Bass.
Rock On

Rock On | You're right about the Hoppus... Jazz Body, Precision neck, and a Precision pickup. Fender classifies it as a Jazz... but it plays and sounds like a Precision.
My Charcoal Frost MIA Precision is hitting the spot... but I've had Steve Harris Sig GAS for over a year... so I'm going to have to own one sooner or later

I also wish they did his current finish- the white with claret & blue pinstriping and the West Ham logo. Even if they didnt put the logo on there, the white w/pinstriping would look ultra cool and REALLY nail his current look.
