NBD - Washburn Force 40 Chicago Bass

Posted to the Official Washburn Club too.

She's a little rough in the finish but 2 new 9Vs and a quick tune and she fired right up. Really nice player - solid sustain and a great pre-amp.

As far as I know, it's a 1984 made by Matsomoku. Same electronics as a Washburn B40EQ.

Gonna string her up and play her for a bit and then, when it's warmer here in Wisconsin (it'll happen eventually), tackle the rough finish (corroded hardware, paint chips and a little veneer swelling around the bridge).

Nice, I have a "Chicago force 8" from the same era and they are just wonderful, solid basses.

Thanks, after getting my hands on one I heartily agree. They should get a LOT more love than they do. Nice design, solid build quality and some really nice electronics. Might have to sacrifice my Peavey and my Dano to keep this one in the stable for awhile.
