Cannot provide that; no digital camera, not even on my seldom-used cellphone!

I guess if that fact invalidates my actually HAVING the bass to "share" on TB,
I'll have to deal with it!

Hey,...maybe I could scan the receipt and attach that; would that help?

Sorry to transgress the "rules". it's an excellent instrument & I thought that I would share my happiness of adding it to my gear!

Well tell us how it plays, sounds etc... I have to say that the lack of a blend knob on a $2K+ bass seems a little odd.

3-way selector instead? It wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. I've got a 4-way rotary switch on my P/J - when I've had a blend or independent volume controls I tend not to fine tune, it's one or both pickups!

The 3-way selector is a great thing IMO. Long live the Yamaha BB. Congrats on your new bass!

Now we're talkin' Thanks for asking!

I was looking into a P/J; considering Nordy, Lull, Wilkins, Tuttle, Lakland, FCS; some others too.

SOMETHING about this bass called to me- I took some time to read past threads about the development of this model both here on TB and on Basschat UK.

I read Yamaha's info and looked at the vids on this series w/ Nathan East, Lee Sklar, Marco Mendoza, etc.

Of course I take marketing AND other players' opinions with a grain of salt, because every player will react differently as to how a bass feels and plays in their hands.

I just got the bass yesterday and I'm very happy and impressed.

The build quality is impeccable, and the instrument feels very comfortable and tight to me.

The lack of a blend control doesn't bother me; Yamaha certainly could have chosen to go that route with the controls, but didn't.

The tones are wonderful; very thick and phat, lots of versatility while retaining it's own character. Very hot pickups with an excellent passive character.

The instrument seems to be promoted as a "Rock Monster", I can see that aspect, however my personal style leans more towards Old/New School R&B and Funk, and so far I find this bass a great tool for my approach to those styles and sounds.

I think the price point is quite reasonable too, considering the hand-built quality; IMO it is on par with some of the highest-level "boutique" builders, making this bass a bargain of sorts.

Again; sorry about lack of a photo- I assure you I DO have it, and I'm very happy with it.
