NBsD! Lucky me!
So, no longer Fender-less... That didn't last long. However, I doubt the Bass VI would be considered a "Fender Bass" in the studio.
This is a stock photo from the store I bought my VI from:
I'll get time to photograph mine soon...
Just installed a set of La Bella VI flats, and letting it settle for a couple of days. Intonation seems fine. But the "fat E" has a ghost note that is annoying. This ghost note gets louder and softer depending upon where it is fretted, but doesn't change in pitch.
I'm also planning to swap the bridge saddles for the adjustable type, and possibly adding a "Parchment" colored guard (just to change the look occasionally).
The other new (to me) bass is a 4003S - likely from a member here.
Although I LOVE the neck, this one is likely only temporary until my refin is finished. The refin is taking too long, and I miss playing a Rick!
I'm a very happy camper today!!! :bassist:
Congrats. I want one so bad but I need to pay my other bills.
That's a great combo. I'm looking forward to possibly getting a VMVI for Christmas. My wife has been dropping "subtle" hints about it since I spend so much time staring at them online. :bassist:
I'd love to have a Ric someday, but they're a little out of my price range ATM.
My actual VI:
Played it at an open mic last night...
The La Bella flats have higher tension than OE strings, and it'll need further set-up work. There's a bit of an odd harmonic, or ghost note on the #6 E string as well... It's better with the p'ups lowered, but the output dropped too...
May need Seymour's touch!
Definitely enjoying the smaller "reach" for the left hand! Could save the day when the arthritis flares up.
