Need help confirming the identity of this bass

I saw this bass in my local Craigslist. Looks like an interesting bass but I don't know what model/make the bass is. The seller of this bass is also unfamiliar as to what it is as he's not even a bass player and is unfamiliar with it as he obtained it along with other items and put it up for sale.
I think it may be a Samick but I thought the Samick logos have a circle around the "s". The font looks slightly different but I've heard that their logo has gone through changes over the years. I can't find a similar logo of this on the internet though.

The bass is going for fairly cheap and trying to decide whether to take a risk and buy it.
Is this an early Samick bass model perhaps (without the circle around the logo)? Looking for information on this particular model bass and if anyone out there might have perhaps tried or own a similar bass to this.

Funny coincidence. Check out this post of a Samick SAK B5 in the "show your bass" thread...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 18!
