Need help identifying this Peavey bass

A friend of mine has this and is willing to sell it to me. It has a lot of sentimental value for him, as it belonged to his old bassist who died. I love the feel of it, the neck is really thin and fast. Even though the strings are dead, it has a nice growl. No model is listed anywhere on the bass. I'd like to know the model and a fair price to offer him.

Sorry, not the best pictures.

Thanks in advance!

I knew TB would come through! That sure looks like a Grind to me. Off to look up how much these go for. Not sure of the year, but it's been around a while.

They're pretty cheap (less than $400 new). I'm surprised, it sure doesn't play or feel like an inexpensive bass!
