I can't wait for these basses... I may have to pre-order one. I really don't want to lose my chance at owning one. As long as that classic cherry finish is offered I would say I will be ordering one. Next I need to find a vintage tube amp.. haha

Given the announced price (low-ish), I would think they are shooting for a large production run...

News is trickling in from Namm...

Guild are calling these new electrics the Newark Street Collection, but it looks like there is only one bass model according to this Fender press release:

http://www.namm.org/sites/www.namm.o...20Products.pdf

Going by the following press release it appears that the original picture i posted is the real deal and not a vintage model, probably just the one finish option available:

http://www.musicradar.com/news/guita...eturn-569941/2

And lastly AtomicDog in this thread has actually played one:

NAMM 2013

I can't find any info on where the bass is made, but I'm sure we'll find out in the next day or two.

So just the one pickup configuration then, shame, I'd rather have one neck pickup. I love the color though!

they probably have difficulties sourcing enough pickups for two-pickup model?

I had a 66 with just the bridge pickup. It was a really sweet sounding bass. The neck pickup is more of a mudbucker.
