New bass day!

Today I picked up a Squier Pro Tone Precision bass. It actually wasn't the bass I was planning on buying. I originally went into the store set to purchase a Sherwood green Squier Precision Special because I've been wanting a P/J pickup configuration plus the Jazz profile neck. Right as I pulled the green one down I looked up and saw the Pro Tone. I had actually never heard of this line and when I tried to do some research there just wasn't much information. Thing is the Pro Tone has the high mass bridge, much nicer tuning keys, and the pickups seemed hotter than the P Special. So for only $30 more than the P special I figured why not, I probably would have spent more than $30 trying to get the P Special up to par.
Okay I lied, I didn't buy it...my wife decided to buy it for me as an early B-Day present when she saw how happy I was playing it in the store.
And I got to take it to practice tonight, sounds really good. It has become my number one in less than 5 hours.
Anyways, here's some pics:

Yeah, she's pretty awesome. I do get to play a lot since she has roller derby practice 3 nights a week.

Nice Squier! And a very nice wife.

And shes part of a roller derby team!? I bet she can throw a helluva back elbow. Stay safe and keep her happy. Use the bass as a shield. Haha.

Pro-Tones were the high quality Made in Korea models. Great instruments.

Yeah, good quality indeed. I love it. It sounds amazing and the neck plays like butter. I actually like it more than my Sterling 34. When I played guitar it was Gibson only, I despised Fender. But now as a bassist, there is only Fender.

Very nice. I've got a Squier P Special and I think it's a great bass, so if the Pro Tone is a step up you've got something really special there.

It plays like a dream. This bass thru a VT then to a GK 700RB Ii then out thru a Neo 412 equals dream tone. I found it!

I had one. Great P-J 's I let it go, but not because it isn't as good as a lot of Fenders I have owned.
