New Bass Day Bought this on a whim. I had owned a Highway 1 jazz bass years ago and always kicked myself for selling it. I spotted one a couple of weeks ago online (new old stock) and pulled the trigger. I gotta say it plays great and once i figure out what pick guard to stick on there, it's going to look great as well. I had heard that most of the bodies on these basses are three piece but can't find a seam. I was also pleasantly surprised that there were no routes under the pick guard. Suggestions for pick guard color welcome! ![]() |
Nice looking bass. May I suggest a tort guard. Enjoy in good health. Bones |
Cool. I vote tort or black for your pg. Congrats. --Steve |
Sweet bass, congrats. Clear pick guard. ;) |
My vote is for "Jaco-style" no pickguard. |
black all the way |
I'd go with tort as well. I see one seam on the upper part of the body, but most of it is buried under the burst. |
Commando. |

+1!!!! |
I'm no tortloafer, but imo 3tsb and rosewood screams for a tort guard. |
I agree! With that finish color a Tort pickguard seems like a no brainer! :) |
Another vote for tort here! May not be the most original combo but it sure looks beautiful. |
Doesn't really need one. Nice bass. |
I used to have a sunburst Jazz myself. I tried out a black pearl and was very pleased with the results. |
The finish on that is super nice. Is there any way those screw holes can be filled? She looks too good to censor. |
I find myself more and more often on Malak tastes side Quote:
for me. Cheers, Wallace |
