I play guitar and have a proper "intermidiate player rig". I'm now trying to get a proper bass rig to learn to play and use it in reharsals. I'm trying to spend less than 800$ to get a proper bass and a combo amp. The bass I would prefer with humbuckers since I play rock and metal (I don´t understand basses very well but I think that would be right), and the combo should be loud enough to play with a drummer and not being full blast. It will be more difficult to find something used as I live in Portugal and I would have a 0.01% chance to find a bass amp even more something that I would like, so I'm really trying to find something in that range although I can stretch a bit. But again I wouldn't be needing something that has too much power and the bass doesn't have too be the best in the world since I'm just starting. Hope you can help.

EDIT: There is no provision for an extension cabinet in the TC Electronic combo so beware. For live shows you can always use a direct out to PA.

as with a coterranean of yours in a few thread before, I start congratulatin' for your beautiful country. I felt in love with Portugal in 2011!

Back to music...
On basses I'm very straight: Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV... especially if you can manage a Vintage Sunburst (very classy!)

I own that one too... it sports a proficient two band equalizer and the neckthru body with mahogany wings and Gotoh himass
bridge support very well a full step downtunin' (D, G, C, F) and
(in my case) a Hipshot GB7 bass extender (C, G, C, F) easily put in as a direct replacement of the Grover E string tuner.

You have plenty of power (and even a Vintage touch of style) just get accustomed to a very far approach to first frets, for the shape of the body pushes them far from you when standin'

On combo amps, Behringer bear a lot of sheer power, yet hard to properly set and, in short, sometimes plainly unuseful. It's up to you between Gallien Kruger and TC Electronic

200w is more than enough to rehearse with a drummer on your side, and Gallien delivers that particular punchy sound that can match with Epiphone Thunderbird grunt attack...

Otherwise, TC Electronic is a bit more performant down a hifi sound point of view (that's what some 50 more watts are for).

The squire and defiantly the GK they are well built and very good sounding

Ibanez and the TC BG250.

Most definitely go with the gk rig can't get anything better than that for the price and they are great for all types of genres of music and most definitely has the umpth you want. Maybe the LTD or squire
