I have a very strong suspicion that many of Fender Marketing's decisions are predicated on the results of contracted focus groups run by people who don't understand what they're doing.

Aside from a corporate crack epidemic, it's the only explanation I can come up with.

I like the red one, would look nice with rosewood. I like it more than the Candy Apple red.

I'll be honest though............it's fricken blue! The P with the maple board looks really good though (I'd swap out for a pearloid pickguard if I were to get it). Not good enough to say "Oh damn, now my Lake Placid Blue body just looks silly" though

The red looks OK, but I have to agree my initial impression upon seeing the Blue pics is that it looks a lot like the affinity squire, and kinda cheap. IMHO, YMMV, etc...

........Chrome Blue, which I believe was discontinued in 2005 (at least on Strats and Teles).

They ought to have limited run of different colors, for a short time only then never repeat those colors.

+1. That's a great blue, and the guitar is pretty sick too.

I've always wanted a transparent green bass.. Stupid Fender, not being considerate of our GAS-needs.

Yeah because Fender doesn't gave a **** about what 20 guys on a bass forum think, close them down I say. Myself I'm never going to buy another Fender until they offer every color of the rainbow including all the metallics and all of the metal flakes and cameleon colors. I'm sure fender wiil pay attention then.
