Cool NEW! Epiphone Classic-IV PRO Thunderbirds!!

Hi guys! I found a new epi T-Bird on the internet. It's the "Classic-IV". I found some information of it. It has mahagony neck and mahagony body with Gibson USA Humbuckers. This bass have a really good lookin'... just like the Gibson's. The Epi Classic-IV is looks like a new Gibson T-bird!!!

I want to buy an Alphine White one in August. I hope so this is not a limited edition and when i get the money for it it disapears, haha .

Anybody knows some more information about this really cool bass?

If this is a neck through, all mahagony bass with USA PUs, isn't it a Gibson T Bird? What is the difference? Are the dimensions exact or something different? Will they be available in the USA? Looks to be about $500. Why pay $1500 for a USA Gibson if you can get this at half the cost? Very confusing.

Anyone have any new info on these? I see the specs on Sweetwater buy MF doesn't have anything listed and even the Epiphone site has no reference.

I'll be looking forward to that review. Seriously considering pulling the trigger on this too. Looks really good on paper.

...and I JUST got over GAS from another bass! Geez!

Read this on Sweetwater's site:

Quote:
Epiphone Thunderbird Classic IV Bass Features:

Mahogany body
SlimTaper maple neck with rosewood fingerboard
20 medium jumbo frets
Two Epiphone USA humbucking pickups
Neck Volume, Bridge Volume, Master Tone
So... they're not Gibson pickups after all? Looks like they might be the Epiphone Pro pups but wired in passive (maybe). I'll wait for more details but for now, I'll just drool over it. By the way, slim taper neck FTW!!

More edits: By the way, Sweetwater is now selling the Epiphone T-Bird PRO-IV (active pups) for $399! Just in case someone was interested in that T-Bird instead of the regular or classic. Must... contain... GAS... stop... clicking "add to cart"...

I wish epiphone would offer a new high quality shortscale? I dont see the need for new Tbirds when they are building 4 models already? I own a pro 4, its my primary bass, i just dont understand their logic?

Yeah, building more variants of their most popular guitars and basses never worked for Fender. Madness, I know. ;-)
