New Fender American Vintage Series - Waiting Room

Thought I'd start a post for speculation about what Fender will announce if and when they revamp the American Vintage bass series as they have done with guitars.

What are you guys hoping to see?

Free upgrades for everyone who currently owns a Fender bass.

Sorry, but you asked what I'm "hoping" to see. :-)

Hoping to see: a 60% discount on your new Fender purchase if you can prove that you have bought new and still own at least 2 American Fender basses.

I'm hoping to see something like the current deluxe jazz, without the active pickups and a better price tag.

1969 Jazz Bass (Bound and blocks with the larger TV font)

I really only want that so that I can then source a vintage spec BnB neck for my 62 AVRI stack knob. I MUST HAVE ONE.

I also remember emailing Fender maybe last year? Sure, anyways, I emailed them about the possibilities of an AVRI Telecaster Bass, like a 68 or 67, (Yeah, they could do a 51 Precision reissue, but I think it'd be cooler to reissue the Tele) and they said they couldn't say anything for certain, but to keep an eye and an ear out in the near future. NOW IS THE NEAR FUTURE, FENDER, WHERE'S MY 68 TELE?

Pff American Fenders. Cadillac of the guitar world, when the GMC will last just as long & perform equally as well.

I suspect a
- '52 P-bass (butterscotch blonde, non contoured, bakelite pickguard & huge maple neck)
- '59 P-bass (white blonde and 3TS, anodized pickguard, maple neck)
- '64 P-bass (sunburst & a CC, tortoise pickguard, veneer rosewood fretboard)

- '60 J-bass (sunburst & white, tortoise pickguard, stackknob, slab rosewood fretboard)
- '65 J-bass (sunburst & CAR, pickguar dep. on color, VVT, veneer rosewood fretboard with dots & binding)
- '70 J-bass (sunburst & ???; maple fretboard with black inlays & binding).

I'd wish for a '66 Jazz Bass, Lake Placid Blue, matching headstock, rosewood 'board, perloid blocks and white binding.

Like this? I had one stolen in 1976 and still haven't recovered from the loss. But yes, I would love to be able to get another one. what a great color combination.

I'd like them to revisit the '51 reissue, and maybe get the color right.

HINT: Blackguard blonde looks better than schoolbus Yellow.

More custom colors would be enough.

Sherwood Green, Shell Pink, etc etc etc
