If you run $1000 through an inflation calander, the '62 value is $131.93. I think they cost more than that back then. I don't fault Fender for trying.

Britbonic, I have to give you credit. Thanks for doing what I should have done. I am now enjoying my 3rd helping of humble pie! Annie is the real deal, and she loves her some Fender!

posiflex only on American Standard, Deluxe and Special basses. Maybe the new selects. The old Highway Ones had them too

Kind of...? Arrr! That photo!

And highly accomplished if you read the bio. I bow before her, and apologize for certain of my brethren who did not fully appreciate her qualifications.

You can bookmark The Music Zoo - they have the absolute best NAMM coverage and their website is quite amazing. I signed up for their updates a long, long time ago and get e-mails everytime they post something new.

It's very helpful around NAMM every year.

To be honest, it's not THAT hard to play. Any competent touring bass player should be able to play a few Jamerson songs. Who knows if somebody taught her the tune, just for the promotion video. It's not like she wrote the song. She's just another marginally attracticve mediocre girl bassist. Julie Slick rocks tho.

Is it just me....or do the lower cutaways look weird on these basses?
They look like they are oversized, or something.....maybe just the photo angle?
