As darn purty as that jazz bling is, to make that bridge pup bark, it's gotta come off!

I have been so busy this week, I forgot to check in here.

I have been playing the '63 Precision in Seminole red and am loving it! It easily has the best fit/finish of ANY AVRI I have had, including the '83 Fullerton AVRI P that I owned for a short time. The neck depth is thicker than the Fullerton, but overall, the neckpocket, and everything else was better.

I LOVE the clay dots. Really makes the bass for me.

Please post some pics if you're still on break, or when you get time?

Sweet '74 you have up there! And that classic '62, always a winner..

I'm relieved to know the new vintage series are starting to find homes now so we can finally hear some good news. Sixteen to seventeen hundred shipped for the '63 is certainly encouraging. Can't wait to see that seminole red up-close and all the rest too.

Congrats to all the new parents.

I wonder if the strategy was to hit us with a high price initially ($1999.99) so we would think we were getting a bargain at the intended price, ~$1650.00?

New Jersey often does that with their highway toll increases.

I am inclined to agree with you. Macy's does this all teh time. I would know, because my wife is a bargain-o-haulic.

Moreover, I cannot help but say that the quality jump from the previous AV line to the new AV line does not really qualify a $500 increase...

Oh man, that's cool...... I had a 3 bolt mid 70's in that same color combo but I broke the neck (many times) and after replacing the neck with a Warmoth it was never the same. It was my baby for years and I so miss it. Was really interested in the reissues though the price is going to be an issue.

Curious what the weight is if you have chance to put it on a scale?

OK, found the info I was looking for (on the fender website of course) Would be interested in hearing a review of the 64and 74 Jazz basses. That white/maple 74 a few posts back looks really sweet.

I was going to ask the same question, and how in the heck did you get it so soon?

It's a 33% increase however you cut or slice it. Street price is still $2k and you apply your 15% coupon or use whatever negotiation skills you've got. The previous models were $1500 before discounts and then you worked from there.

The only way it's not a 33% increase is if invoice is significantly lower than MAP and there's more haggle room w/ dealers than there was prior.

They're trickling in to various places online. I think Bass Club Chicago has two 63' in.
