I just opened the box now. Twenty three hours was good enough! Wow! First, the case is just like the one in the link I posted (Sweetwater web site). It's cream with dark brown edges and the classic orange interior. The bass is beautiful! The faded sonic blue is gorgeous! The mint green guard is just like in the pics we've seen so far. It's definitely a "deeper" mint than others I've seen. I have two other (non-Fender) basses with mint guards, and the mint is much more subtle on those. The weight is just about right. I'll get it on a scale at some point. There are mutes in the bridge cover. The bass is strung with roundwounds, but they actually included a set of flats in the case! I played her only for a couple of minutes, but my initial impression is that she's a keeper! Very resonant, and I cannot find a dead spot-not even around the fifth to seventh frets on the G-string. Awesome! Lots of case candy (the useless "vintage" strap, cable, etc.) There is also what appears to be a reproduction of an old user's manual. I've only glanced at it, but it gives tips on how to play if you are new to the instrument (coming from guitar or DB perhaps).
Anyway, I've got a couple of hours more of work to do. After that, I'll spend a couple of hours playing. I promise I'll get pics up asap-as long as I have power and internet access during the storm!

I promise I'll get some better ones up over the weekend (if I still have power and internet access). The Faded Sonic Blue looks washed out in these pics. In person, it's somewhat deeper/more robust.
Again, I've only played her for a few minutes, but the neck is super comfy and the frets are definitely "vintage" (read: small). I'll try to get some close-up side shots so you can check 'em out.
Thanks for all of the comments. Now I gotta get some work done!

Congrats Congrats
