I think it's time to add a '69, '70 or '71 p-bass to the AVRI line....whichever year they started with the medium nut; oh but it wouldn't be period correct to make those in shell pink or any other absolutely irresistible pastel, so maybe not.

Also count me among the binding w/dots lovers, and with people who believe that it all (any of it) points to a nasty price increase.

Same. I could probably get the action lower, but I like my basses to have some fight in them.

There's a few things that would be nice to add to the AVRI series.

1959 Precision Bass - Available with both Rosewood & Maple fingerboards. Offer it in Mary Kay white, Black and 'Burst (was 1959 2 tone sunburst or 3 tone?)

1967 Jazz Bass - Bound and blocked fingerboards. VVT control configuration. Offer it in 3TSB, Lake Placid Blue, Black & Candy Apple Red

1972 Telecaster Bass - Featuring mudbucker pickup. Maple fingerboard. Offer it in Natural, Blonde & Black.

What about a 60% discount if you can spell Squier? Sorry couldn't resist.

custom color late 60's j basses with bound necks an matching headstocks would make it really hard to resist. ocean turquoise, Sherwood green, seafoam, shell pink, etc. that would be good times.

I hope they make some Precision basses and some Jazz basses. That would be cool if Fender did that.

I don't care what they do, so long as the price isn't way over the old AVRIs. I just started saving up money for a new bass, and the AVRI '62 P was one of the options, so of course they were discontinued.

waiting should be over semi-soon...

I see that it is 26 days until Winter Namm 2013...I thought in the past...I COULD be wrong...but somehow I recall Fender updated their website with new models (that were to be unveiled at Namm shows) previous to the show actually happening? So....maybe in a couple of weeks we will see what the new AVRI line has happenin'?? 3 weeks?...very interested to see what they offer up in the Precision line...

True late 60s Mustang with paddle tuners, matching headstock, racing stripes etc. And also period correct Mustang pickups. Pretty unlikely tho.

Even though I'm more a precision kind of guy, i would be very tempted if they make a 1965 matching headstock black jazz bass.

Just like this one:

No news yet on the new vintage models - but I thought you fellow Fender fans might like to know that the Fender website has been redesigned.

Just saw that, thanks! It's been updated with the new colors for the models (it seems that Candy Cola AND Mystic Red co-exist together) and some new CS models....
