If I was in the market for another AVRI, I would clearly go for the 58' White Blonde P-bass

I mean I guess the new offerings are neat , but only if they dont come with some inflated price and honestly I wish they would keep the 62's and 57's still. Looks like maybe I should hang onto my 57 P and 62 J if there not going to be making them anymore

wow I hope there's more than that. oly white, sunburst, black. lake placid blue is nice, but dammit, the mandate is clear. give us new colors.

the white blonde I don't even acknowledge that. they had a white blonde 57 a few months ago, now you're bringing back essentially the same bass a few months later.

give us Sherwood green, give us ocean turquoise, hell, just go to the reranch website and do likewise.

sonic blue. ok, I'll admit. that's kinda nice.

All 58' models does have gold guards, it would be vintage-incorrect if they use a different one.

Considering what they did to the guitars, expect a 30% rise on the price.

Man, I'm in trouble. Anyone else have the Fender: The Golden Years book? The bass I am completely obsessed with in that book is Sonic Blue/rosewood. Just looked up the year...1963! Fate!

Its not even worth it then. People were buying brand new 62's for around $1000 when they were getting blown out. Thats a brandnew bass, they could have had a pro nitro refin for $3-400 and came out well under what these new ones are going to be and had a bass in any color they wanted.

Agreed. There will probably be a few modifications like correcting the 12th fret dot and getting the right headstock logo (like they did to the guitars), but yeah, expect the price to rise something like that.

The price point is an issue. CS basses aren't much more.

The strats and teles went up $600 in their revision. Let's not kid ourselves... Fender is going to do exactly the same with the basses. It's total price gouging.

Yep, just like they did to the guitars, they will fix a lot of small details (that wouldn't have any extra cost to be done) as justification to increase the price ridiculously.

Thanks for the spoiler alert and info, sigmafloyd!! Following this thread with interest. Agree with the calls for new/old colors like shell pink.

Just got shipping confirmation on a backordered '62 AVRI Jazz from MF in Oly white. Hope it arrives intact!

Meanwhile Amazon is torturing me with those little ads off to the side; dancing AVRI jazz basses in 3TSB, black and Oly at inflated prices. They know way too much about my GAS!!

Opinions for no pick guard and necks with no dots markers on the fretboard itself.
