New FSR Jazz

I ordered an FSR (ash body; I have a weakness for trans ash)) Jazz from MF as a backup, figuring I could always replace the pickups if I liked it. Anyway, gigged with it this weekend and it felt, sounded, and looked fantatsic. I'm an old guy with vintage tastes; are these supposed to be this good? Have I been on some other planet? Perhaps I am getting senile, but the thing just knocked me out. Is it the wood? Or did I just get lucky? Anyone else like them too? Pics to follow.

I bought one of those Fender FSR Jazz basses a few months ago. Really impressed with it. It has become my main gig bass over my American Jazz. Really a fine bass as it is. I bought it with the thoughts of upgrading the pickups etc. - No need.

there is one at a local music shop that i've been going back and forth over for some time, it's very nice w/ trans blue finish, no pokey frets and set up pretty well... I just can't justify a new bass right now.

I purchased one a few weeks ago as my new main bass, and I haven't put it down since. It's incredibly well made for the price and it looks absolutely stunning. Can't wait to see pictures of yours!

I purchased one of these a couple of weeks back and just love it! Right out of the box it had that great Fender Jazz sound. All I've done to it is replace the strap buttons with strap locks.

I played the FSR P-bass and it was killer. I haven't had a chance to play a Jazz bass though.

I have one as well, I play it more than my American P bass now. And like everyone else said, the p/u's sound really good, I have no intention on changing them. The wood grains don't line up perfectly, but you would really have to look hard to notice, anyone else notice this?

Standard FSR P here. I loved it that it came with the tort pickguard -- white looks so wimpy with ash.

Anyhow, mine got a Basslines Quarter Pound, TI Jazz Flats and a Warmoth fretless neck. It's now my #1.

Do these FSRs have the same pickups as any MIM?

I have always loved the look of the clear coat on swamp ash!

I love my FSR from the day I bought it. (Brand new). The biggest problem I had with unfortunately is that the nut snapped after about 4 months, now this is to be expected maybe at about a year of use. And im not abusive to it at all. I guess it was just bad luck on my part. But it sounds beautiful with the half-rounds I got. Next I am planning to instal some Dimarzio Pick-ups and replace the existing pick guard. It sounds great even with the Behringer combo amp I have.

So these are MIM Fenders? The natural wood looks nice, I've noticed SX makes a buch of those.

So they ship with a tort guard instead of the white one pictured in MF?

The only ones I have seen with the white pickguard are the ones in the ads. The local GC here in San Antonio has several of them and they all have the tort pickguard.

I LOVE my FSR P-bass. Yeah, all of them that I've seen come with the tort rather than the white pickguard.

This was my FSR P - purchased 2 years ago came with the white PG.

This was a nice Bass. The newer ones I've seen lately all have the Tort PG
