After many mid adjustments 600Hz seems the best. I do like the preamp input at 2/3 to 3/4 up. It really adds bite and punch. I found any higher than 3/4 and there is a slight treble hiss and the tone controls become too extreme. What a great bass!

this thread has been very enlightening, I watched the pedigo videos and did a few setup tweaks or pickup height, the last thing to do is adjust my preamp output. currently I get a pretty big boost when going from passive to active but it matches my other active basses pretty well, passive mode is much quieter than my passive P bass.

Same experience with my 44-01 with the LH-3preamp upgrade. Love how it plays, but the sound is thin.

I changed the mid selector to 225hz on the LH3 and I'm happier with it. I'm going to try flats rather than roundwounds on it in a couple of days and see if that fills out the sound some more also.

I leave my 55-94 DIP switch set at default. However, I run my mid control knob at the full cut position. Bass is almost always flat, maybe a bit of boost, treble is usally flat. Coil tap switch usually centered with the blend knob rolled back slightly toward the rear PUP. If I want a more Jazz-like tone, I put the coil tap back to the bridge coil only. This is primarily with TI Jazz Flats. Sadowsky Flats need a bit of bass boost, but I still leave mids fully cut on the bass. Not a fan of honky mids. I seldom use eithe PUP by itself, but I will occasionally set the coil tap to the forward position for a bit more bass. These settings work well in the studio or live.

I kept mine at the stock setting when I had it, and it sounded fantastic. Honestly, the only reason I got rid of that bass was because it was a bit too heavy for me.
(of course, at 140 pounds soaking wet...everything is too heavy for me)
