New Music Man Bongo model? (new tuners?)

I´ve noticed that MM had changed tuners that they were using on MM Bongo...

Old ones...
http://www.zikinf.com/_gfx/matos/dyn...an-bongo-6.jpg

Today I´ve opened Official MM site ( http://www.music-man.com/instruments...s/bongo-6.html )

http://www.music-man.com/components/...o6_main_03.jpg

What else is new on this model?

Thx for the info...

Just the tuners. They're lighter weight.

looks like maybe just different (lighter) tuners on the bongo 6 strings.

They are now on all Bongos, Big Als, and Reflexes/GCers.

I could see on the Bongos and Reflexes with the different style headstock, but the Big Al with the classic EBMM headstock would just look weird with a style of different tuner, IMO.

I think the shape is alright. Maybe if they were a little bit bigger they'd be more like the original. It seems like it's too "guitary" of a style with the smaller tuners.

They remind me of the tuners on the super super cheap Squiers.

Yeah. Perhaps ugly is harsh. They definitely are not a visual upgrade though.

I dont think they were meant to be! Im actually pretty content with the clover tuners, but if those tuners take off weight from the bass, especially a fat Bongo 6 headstock, then im all for it!

Yep, right now as I type this, I have a candy apple red Bongo 4 Hp with an abalone pickguard in route to me from Bass Central with the new tuners. It should be here sometime between Friday to Monday at the latest. It has the new light weight tuners on it so I am anxious to see how they will effect the overall feel of the bass. From what I have heard, it makes the bass feel a lot lighter.

Holy wow, those are ugly. Fender shaved a noticeable amount of weight off their newer tuners without sacrificing the full-sized cloverleaf; I don't see why MM can't do the same. Those new tuners have 'vintage Soviet bass' written all over them.

They could have gone with some hipshot ultralites like fender and keep the clover key.

Maybe EBMM didn't want tuners to look like all the other clover tuners and maybe they didn't want to source tuners from another company GEEZ I DONT KNOW!!
