$799, which is pricy for Rondo, but then how much does the cheapest Dingwall cost new?
it's been up for a few months now. I've been going back and forth about getting one

If it were a 6... Less than that around my house, it just wouldn't get played. I've been down that road.

the thing stopping me from buying it is that it's 32-35 inch scale instead of the 34-37 inch scale like on a Dingwall

Good point. Isn't one of the main ideas of the fanned fret system to allow the B string to run 37 inches, the magic number, which allows it to ring out at the perfect resonance or to achieve the best B tone you can get? I remember reading something like that.

35 inches is alright for a B but they really screwed the pooch choosing that scale length in a fanned fret bass

It's a shame they don't offer six-strings with more than just two Jazzes (and the Defiant's humbuckers).

If they had this as a BK with a WT pickguard, I'd be ordering that one right now and modding the life out of it. Not the headstock, though, I kinda dig that.

It was my understanding that SX are made in China and Brice are made in Korea. I don't know where Hadean is from.

Where do I go to find all of Rondo’s basses? I constantly see some really nice natural basses on TB that aren’t shown on the Googled Rondo web site?

The inventory changes frequently.

Aside from some listings on eBay, this is the official site http://www.rondomusic.com/

Agile/Douglas are from the same factory in Korea; SX is from Team International in China, as I believe are the acoustic instruments rondo sells. That's why I was curious about this new Hadean brand name, if Kurt has a new supplier or just some new labeling by the existing ones.

Okay, this is the snob in me talking, but the double P in the picture has nothing inscribed on the headstock, and the headstock has a nice shape. If it ships blank like that, bonus for us snobs.

The double P idea gets kicked around with regularity here on TB, this could be a golden opportunity for a modder's dream on the way cheap.

I don't know what you'd get. It also says:
•All chrome hardware and three ply pick guard complete the look

I don't see no stinkin' pickguard.

It also says 20 frets, and the bass pictured obviously has 24 frets.

I think the web page was put up in haste and they need to go back and make some edits.

If you get what's pictured, and it's typical of the quality Kurt offers with his various lines, it pretty much constitutes bang for the buck in my book.

As someone who has owned several SX in the past, and also looked into importing from China a couple years ago, that "Hadean" looks like it has really cheap components, not at all up to the SX quality.

That's a lot of assuming considering it's a picture. What looks cheaper on it than what's on an SX? Just curious about your thoughts.

You've only been looking at the basses page, which hardly ever goes over $200 or $250. Rondo's guitar offerings have regularly had items up in the $500-1000 range, especially if you hit the tab for multi-scales.

Looks similar to a "sample bass" I imported which had really junky components. That's just my impression from the picture; I could be wrong, of course.
