Why, the nerve!

I have had some excellent SX basses, and some not so.

But why would Rondo rebrand these new basses? They could have called them SX. I suspect it's because they know the quality is less than SX. They may be even coming from a different manufacturer. This is all just my speculation, of course.

That MM/MM Hadean looks a lot like this one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bass-Guitar-...item2c6ab4e5b8

Better price though.

Not understanding what makes you so sure. I've been working with Kurt for the past eight years, buying instruments for myself and my students. If there's one thing he understands, it's this: Offer people a crappy instrument and they're just going to take advantage of his return policy and it's going to come back on him like a poop avalanche.

I'd be very surprised if he started offering something that bad.

Very true. I hesitated on this one because of appearances but I really have never had a bad bass from Rondo.

Carefully.

Seriously fretless guitars are a lot less common than fretless basses but there are people who play them.

Is that really a neck through, five piece neck, active five string for $180? Holy cow! I have all but given up on playing a five string but for that price I'm really tempted!

YOU GUYS!

How could you not notice...

The pirate bass is back... http://www.rondomusic.com/ursa3pbgbk.html

Lame paint scheme aside; it's still got that P/J with a jazz body and the 'old' headstock.

"The poor man's Aerodyne"!

There have been some pretty awesome mods to that model floating around in other SX threads or in the Modder/Luthier section.

I was fortunate enough to play with them both in Brighton Eng back in 2004 when Guthrie joined us for a few songs during a tour I was doing playing bass with the other guy.

Why is the P J configuration so popular or important?

They never seem to have new fretless's.
Edit: there's a 5 string 35” brice fretless. If it only had one less string....

Don't knock the Pirate... I have one from the first run, and it plays like a dream. Sounds great, super light. Tuners are really stiff though. Otherwise I'd play it all the time if it had a few more strings.

I could be wrong, certainly. We won't know until someone orders one of these and reports back to us.

It’s a bit frustrating for me to. So many beautiful Basses so few fretlesses.
