This is a Model 6071. Not bad shape for a 47 year old bass. Great tone and it is really big for a short scale, it's a good 3-1/2 inches longer than my Gibson G3. Needs a strap button and some new mute pad material. The 24k gold plated hardware could use some cleaning as well as the entire bass, she is somewhat grimy after all these years. Overall I am quite pleased, everything works! Action is decent and fun to play. The tone switches are going to take some figuring out though.
OOOH I like that bridge-only PU! So unlike most basses of this era. How much did you pay? Come on, make us cry...
Actually, whenever I think about it I kinda want to cry.......
$1000 plus shipping. Probably overpaid some for the condition it's in but I am happy. I ebayed a bunch of crap and had the money just hangin' out so I said what the heck.
Thanks! I was pretty stoked to get it. Pondered it for quite some time and a close friend convinced me to do it. The wife gave the nod of approval and Boom!
Got scared when I saw pics of the same bass on the forum. So random! I had to ask. My interactions with the seller have been great! Solid dude from my perspective. Also glad I didn't have to tell him to have an uncomfortable conversation with whomever he got it from.
Hi Steve! That's the bass, although those old pictures are pretty bad. Definitely consider replacing the mute pad material, it sounds great with the muting device engaged, almost like a fretless! Glad this is going to a TB'R.
