Very cool. What kind of neck?

And, the body could be a Mighty Mite. They actually do sparkles, but the pics never looked great.

Yes, I believe it is a Mighty Mite body. And yes, there's a slight pickguard gap. It's the only guard I had lying around - I may check into others.

And ditto on the knobs - They were in my parts box. I just wanted to get it together for now. Changes may come in the details.

Oh, and the neck is a USACG finished in nitro - got it from Dan Atkinson. With Hipshot tuners.

Thanks for all the comments!

I also saw those bodies on Ebay and was tempted but was concerned about the Bling. Nice to see what it actually looks like in the flesh, so to speak. Looks really nice.

WOW. Something about sparkle paint just turns me into a kid again. Looks like a speedboat. Very nice.

Beautiful.

Damn. You beat me to it. I bought one of these bodies myself...

I got mine yesterday; I was really pleased with how it looks in person.

Going with an all maple neck, a black pickguard and probably a BA II bridge.

Is that a MIJ pickguard?

Yeah, yeah - MAN, you all are hard to please!

Just kidding - but truthfully, those were the only knobs I had here. I'll get some other ones at some point. Oh, and I have no idea of the origin of the guard - it's something I bought a long time ago. Obviously not a perfect fit.

Don't listen to 'em... The bass looks great just the way it is.

Tried a white pickguard on mine (just laid it on the body)... Sure looks good.

I think I will still order a black one though; I'm going to go for a late seventies look with the maple fretboard neck.

I actually originally planned on a black guard, but decided I liked the "mint/parchment" once I laid it on there (and it kind of has a nice late '60s look). They both looked good. And seriously, the finish is pretty nice on these bodies for the money!
