I really like the sunburst, too.

According to my guy at Sweetwater, they are made in Mexico.

They have the Olympic White w/stripe in stock, now...

Best regards,
Lou

No such luck.

014 = MIM.

Don't see the appeal of these things, especially at the price.

The first half of the video was painful. A touch heavy on the overdrive? Good grief.

But, the clean sounded nice. I'd really like this bass for around $500. $800 just seems outrageous.

I've been watching FMIC's moves to get out of the hole.

Plan seems to be downsourcing to imports + raising prices to get more per-unit profit out of what would have formerly been at-near-loss entry-level instruments.

These tempt me, but guess what bass my Bronco with Gretsch 2202 pickup resembles...?

I tried to pick up a Squier Mustang recently, but that was at a much lower price point than the new Fender model.

+1 Especially since they are MIM. Unless that WRHB pup is considerably better than the traditional split single coil, I think the Classic MIJ Mustang is the better bass at $50 less. My own experience with MIJ vs MIM Fenders is that the MIJs are a bit better in fit and finish.

Best regards,
Lou

Very cool. And although I personally love the sound of the standard pickup, It's good to see that there is now another option.

Yeah, I think the Pawn Shop series used to be in Japan, but I think they're only tailoring to the Japanese market. Hence why all the new Pawn Shops are made in Mexico. I keep going back and forth from here and OSG reading new information :P

It sure sounds good, but definitely not at that price. Wonder what distortion/overdrive pedal or amp he's playing through, 'cause they don't sound that way through a clean channel for sure.
