Poor Atomic. Obviously haven't played one.

You can blind fold me and I'll be able to tell which one is the Sadowsky in about 2 min. They really are different.

I've played lots of Fender's and found 2 I really liked. One was a 71 Jazz and the other was a 64 all original Jazz.

The '64 was only $12,000 and one owner, original case, strings and pickup covers that had never been removed.

New Sadowsky

I like my bass to sound a curtain way and I didn't realize it but I had been using a lot of energy "getting my bass to sound right". My fingers were sore or days after a big gig and it was due to "tweaking" the bass with my fingers. Last night a soon as we started playing, the bass sounded so good (out of the box) that all my effort went toward actually playing. So the way I see it, when I play the Sadowsky, 100% goes to music and nothing toward "making it sound right". No sore fingers today and one happy camper! Plus it looks damn cool

Thanks for all the kind words and I am glad to be a part of the Sadowsky family, you guys rock. By the way, my wife also bought me a used Bergantino HT322 but I still need a padded cover if you have any info on that, it would be great
Thanks everyone

I am so happy for you. What wonderful basses. I have had mine for five years. I have been playing for 40 years and have seen lots of basses come and go. Since getting mine, I have never played another bass. Not interested.

Yours looks a bit like my sweetheart except for the rosewood board:

I am trying to get some pics up now, your not the first to ask. This is a 64 heavy relic jazz bass by master builder John Cruz. This was built for the Fender Rep to carry around and show the dealers what the custom shop could do and I bought from him through my local dealer. It's shore line gold with a matching headstock and rosewood board. The pick guard is mint, looks like linen to me. I put a bass ass 2 bridge on it but have the original. Have all paperwork, strap, ash trays, ect...would like to get enough so I can start a fund to by a NYC later this year. So........$2,800.00 plus shipping.
Also comes with a tweed case but one of the latches needs to be fixed

I will set up a thread in the classified section, I don't think I should have done this here. Look for "fender 64 relic"

Congrats on 2 of the best!(Bass & Wife) I'm not great at describing tones but the Sadowsky Metro's just Shine. I owned a MS5 and it was the only bass my wife ever complimented the sound of. Specifically while soloing. My Drummer also said it was the best sounding bass he had ever heard. That was all with Sadowsky Single coils in place of the Humbuckers. When I can afford it I will get another Sadowsky but for now at least I have my Ric.

Congrats! I've only been to Bass Club Chicago a few times, but they have been great to talk to. They are one of the extremely few shops that seem to cater to my market.
