Also thinking of trying the Carvin radiused single pickups. But, it sounds really good as is, so I'll probably just leave it.

How much does it weigh out of curiosity? I've been thinking about Carvin but it seems like most of their basses are on the 9+ lb. weight.

It's not what I'd call heavy, though. I'd guess it's 8 1/2 to 9 pounds. But, that's just a guess. It's really well balanced, which helps keep it comfortable on the old shoulder.
As far as Carvins go in general, the SB basses are on the heavy side, but the other models are generally average to light IME.

Sounded nice too, though pretty modern. My main bass is 7.3 lbs. so almost anything is heavy compared to that.

I love the Icon series. Almost bought one myself recently. Easily my favorite bass in Carvins lineup. |

I had a fretless LB75 Carvin that weighed 7 LBs and was a nice bass but the B string was less than stellar.
The best sounding basses for me have always had some weight.
Nice looking Icon! |

I love basses that reveal a whole new character simply by flipping them over. I know that sounds loaded with innuendo, but it was unintended. |
