NIB Sqr VM fretless on CL Chicago, is it worth it/any good?

Stumbled upon this, was looking for one a while back but dont know if fretless is my thing or not?
are these vintage modifieds worth it?

They are nice basses (i have one that has since been modded).
If you buy the one in the ad you get no warranty and no guarantee.

It is not much more for a new one and honestly I wouldn't buy
one that is so close to new price. The saving are not that great
and the headache could be enormous.

Just my 2 cents.

If you're interested, let the seller know. Maybe he/she will let you demo it to see if fretless is your thang! Never hurts to ask questions. It tells me that the seller is a TalkBass user (or member), because of the reference in the advert. Plus, since it's NIB, the warranty may transfer over.

I bought one when they first came out and still keep it around. Wasn't perfect, but it got me into playing fretless and led to me getting a higher end fretless bass.
