Nice $45,000.00 jazz bass..

A little too steep for my budget
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Vin...item4ac1930fc3

The only reason people are watching it is to see if someone actually buys it!

That posting makes it look like I'm giving my bass away!

FWIW, I like hitting up Gruhn's website just to check out the $$$$$ vintage stuff

I like and appreciate a good ol' vintage bass... but REALLY?

It's speculative, looking-for-a-sucker moonshots like this that I quit buying Vintage Guitar Magazine. It's just silly.

I....think it might be fake. The finish checking and peeling just doesn't seem reasonable. I've never seen a bass start peeling that way.

Geez it seems like all the expensive ones are fender, I don't get why fender owners are so full of themselves, they aren't that great lol. I wouldn't pay that much for a bass even if it was owned by a legend.

Nice bass, nice to look at it, but:

- buy a Fender CS replika - nobody hears the difference
- buy a nice car
--------- and save 20.000 dollars for holidays with the family, or another nice bass or amplifiers etc.

Another one of these threads? Already?

But yeah, I couldn't justify that kind if money for a bass, even if I did have it!

That won't sell at that price and the "story" is way too long for the listing I wouldn't touch it. When I read stuff like this "I don't know how to play instruments, so never try out this guitar. SOLD AS IS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO RETURN WILL BE ACCEPT!" I run....

That's what happens when people who are my age get money and get nostalgic.

Just like muscle cars. I remember back in high school (1980's), my brother bought a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner for $800. He recently paid $20,000 for a similar car that's in good shape but won't even idle.

For that price you can buy 375 SX basses ...

Would it sound 375 times better than an SX?

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

The bass doesn't look right and the description makes me suspect that it's a scam. It's way over priced even if it is real. Kind of ironic that the seller's name is "shop-smart"'
