I recently bought a very nice Eden Metro Combo amp. Not only did the Eden amplify the music very nicely it also amplified the shortcomings of my bass, not to mention the shortcomings of my playing. Rather than dealing with sorting out the neck problem, new PU selection, etc of my old Status BG I picked up a like new 08 Warwick Double $$ 4 string.
It's got a few dings but I'm not a collector. As it turns out I know exactly how the nicks got there. It belonged to a guy who used to play with us. He had neck surgery and had his head and neck in some sort of mechanical monstrosity. It had rods running down to a plate on his chest and back and he bumped it few times on them. I remember he thought another player had done it and very pissed till he realized it was he who did it.
Anyway, looking forward to coming to terms with it. I got it for 600 bucks plus my old bass. I guess the next thing will have to be a decent little practice amp. I'm trying to trash a little Crate 15w guitar amp now. |
