From my gig last night at a club in Phoenix called Margaritaville's.
| Glendale, right? I was there just over a week ago, even played a couple of songs on that stage. It's a pity I missed your Nordys and your singer. |

I was lucky enough to pick up a "new to me" VJ5 in late June and I'm about to replace the battery for the second time...is this normal?
Comparatively, I have only replaced the battery once in a year and a half on my 55-94 |

My two favorite strings on that spec are the DR Hi Beams if you want a bit of a smoother, updated 70's J tone (i.e., more sizzle than upper mid 'clank/grind') and the DR Lo Rider Steels if you want to go more old school, with a more aggressive, less sweet, more ganky/grind top end.
Both last a long time for me. The Hi Beams have a looser feel and just sound sweet. A bit of natural scoop in the upper mids that controls that maple bite nicely. The Lo Riders grind more, and feel tighter. |

Another nice string I just put on this weekend was the new SS Elixir's. Smooth sort of like a Nickels, but in the tone ball park like a High or Fat beam. Not 100% like beams on the flexibility spectrum, but not as stiff as a Lo Rider. |
