NOS Musicman Surprise!

I purchased this Sterling Fretless from Bass Central last month. Really enjoying the bass!

I figured it was a 2012, maybe 2011 at most......boy was I wrong!

On the Ernie Ball forum, you can submit the serial number of your instrument and they will tell you its DOB.

To my surprise.....03/28/02!

So this bass has been sitting in Bass Central's stock room for just shy of 11 years! Wow! Guess their inventory doesn't turn over that fast.

Ends up this New Old Stock bass is only a couple years older than the used Sterling I pick up off of TB a few months ago which was built 11/05/99. Kind of makes sense, the S/N of my '99 is F01810 and the "new" one is F05775. Did not pick up that the S/N's were so close!
